Lead by Example

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Faculty and staff across campus have been hard at work for many months on the Lead By Example comprehensive campaign, and I thank you.

This afternoon, I briefed local and state media and informed them of our fundraising goal of $4 billion over the next five years. Eighty-five percent of this amount will be used in support of academic excellence and expansion of research. This goal will be publicly announced on Saturday.

Lead By Example is one of the boldest campaigns in all of public higher education. We set the bar high because our university and our people are known as leaders, and we are ready to make an even greater impact on our state, nation and world.

As we join together in this united effort, we can show the world how Texas A&M leads by example by addressing today’s most pressing grand, global challenges and producing leaders of character.

This is an exciting time for us, and I appreciate all that you do to lead by example.
