Howdy Ags!
I am thrilled to see everyone back on campus, ready to jump into fall 2018 at Texas A&M. If this is your first semester, congratulations on becoming an Aggie! Our campus is a place where individual passions feed a collective purpose.
Welcome back also to Aggies at our branch campuses in Galveston and Qatar, the Texas A&M School of Law in Fort Worth, our Health Science Center locations throughout the state, and the newest addition to our family, the Higher Education Center at McAllen, Texas.
Here on our flagship campus, many terrific projects are in progress or completed including new Student Rec Center locations, the Music Activities Center, and the Zachry Engineering Education Complex.
Aggies near and far are engaging in life-changing learning experiences, while making meaningful improvements to the lives of others, and bringing the Aggie core values to life in impactful ways.
Hopefully you will find time in between your studies to explore the many fine opportunities to meet and connect with fellow Aggies, explore your interests and make a difference through student organizations and service projects.
Texas A&M is a tier-one research institution with nearly $1 billion in annual research expenditures. For you this means endless possibilities to conduct research beside world-renowned experts, endeavoring to solve some of our greatest global challenges.
Our faculty and staff are dedicated to helping you succeed and live by the Aggie core values of respect, excellence, leadership, loyalty, integrity and selfless service.
Texas A&M graduates are some of the most highly sought-after workers in the nation, so cheers to you for choosing a truly great university to help you fulfill your highest potential.
My best wishes for an exciting, productive and greatly beneficial academic year.
Thanks and Gig ‘em,
Michael K. Young
