Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,
I am excited to announce that Texas A&M University will be featured through strategic, multidisciplinary programming at South By Southwest (SXSW), March 10 - 15 in Austin, Texas.
As you may know, SXSW is a truly global event hosted in our own backyard, connecting thousands of the world’s most gifted minds in business, academia, film and society for the advancement of creative and professional thought leadership. Our presence during the Interactive portion of SXSW places our university among Fortune 500 corporations that can recruit our students, visionary leaders who can grow our already-strong Aggie network, and global connections that can further enhance our Texas A&M brand. That the event is in relatively close proximity gives our students and faculty a world stage on which to share ideas and highlight incredible work without the travel time and expense typically required to do so.
Beginning March 10, Austin’s Hotel Van Zandt will become the “Texas A&M House,” a seat of transformational learning, discovery and innovation. Our university will present programs, installations and interactive displays on topics such as academic incubators, the collision of art and technology, and big data, among other fascinating areas of research and exploration.
As the world takes notice of the impressive heights our university continues to reach, I want to thank you all for your invaluable contributions that make this success possible.
Stay tuned for exciting announcements to come about Texas A&M at SXSW.
