'Lead by Example' A Remarkable Success

Dear Aggies:
Recently, we announced the official conclusion of our Lead by Example campaign, which is now the most successful fundraising effort by a public university in the history of Texas.
When the campaign was launched, we had high hopes of raising $4 billion. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of the entire Aggie Network, we are very proud that we not only achieved our initial goal, but also surpassed our greatest expectations, raising a record of $4.25 billion.
'Lead by Example' A Remarkable Success
We owe a deep debt of gratitude to the inspired work that made this campaign possible, especially from our affiliate fundraising organizations - the Texas A&M Foundation, The Association of Former Students, the 12th Man Foundation, the George & Barbara Bush Foundation, and the Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets Association.
While larger donations often capture the headlines, we were delighted that our campaign was sustained by a series of smaller gifts from across the Aggie Family. Of the more than 903,600 total donations, over 825,000 were gifts of less than $1,000. This is a great tribute to the widespread support from Aggies at every level, and we are extremely grateful for every gift, large and small.
As we celebrate the conclusion of this transformative campaign, we are also mindful that its full impact is measured not only in the total amount raised, but also in the investments it will allow us to make in the future. You have ensured we will be able to retain and recruit leading faculty, provide essential scholarships for students and add new facilities and technologies that will continue to enhance our important mission of education and research.
While we are closing the books on this historic campaign, I believe this is not an ending, but rather a new beginning. This is merely a prologue to exciting new chapters of success and achievement that we will all write together in the years ahead.
As we celebrate this meaningful moment, I want to thank you for the role you played in elevating our campaign. The lasting legacy of every generation is determined by how well they set the stage for generations to come. With your strong support, you have ensured that future generations will inherit a university that will continue to transform lives and change the world. That's a legacy that should make you very proud, and the greatest gift we can give to Aggies of the future.
