On this, my first day as President of this very important university, I want to convey my deep appreciation for you, and all that you have done to help this institution earn its standing in the world. Your commitment to excellence and integrity are, in no small way, why Marti and I find ourselves here with you at Texas A&M.
Every subsequent discovery since our arrival has only confirmed that you are a faculty truly setting the new standard for meaningful contributions to solving the great global challenges. We are excited to continue building upon the impressive foundation you have laid, taking your ideas and expertise out into the world, into the future and into the history books. We are so honored to join you, to share in your great work and to help champion your further successes.
