Dear Faculty and Staff,

Please join me today in congratulating the recipients of the hard-earned and prestigious 2018 Distinguished Achievement Awards.

Texas A&M and The Association of Former Students recognize these 24 outstanding members of the university’s faculty and staff for excellence in teaching; research; student relations; administration; extension, outreach, continuing education and professional development; staff performance; and graduate mentoring.

These award categories reflect the tenets that absolutely are vital to the growth and success of Texas A&M. Excellence in teaching, research and service are at the core of our land-grant mission, and we highly value those faculty and staff members who work so diligently to carry out these goals.

Since 1955, the Distinguished Achievement Awards have been presented to faculty and staff members for their commitment, performance and positive impact on Aggie students, the state and world around them.

I applaud the honorees for their unwavering dedication to Texas A&M, their high standards of excellence and their steadfast professionalism.
