Congratulations graduates

As the day of your graduation approaches, I would like to personally congratulate you on obtaining your degree from one of the nation's finest institutions. What an outstanding accomplishment and one of which you should be so proud.

I hope during your stay at Texas A&M, you were able to find time in between studies to truly enjoy the uniqueness of the Aggie experience, whether you participated in service projects, paid your respects at Silver Taps, practiced yells at midnight, or stood loud and proud in support of the team.

Once you have crossed the stage at commencement, you will join the nearly 500,000 former students worldwide who make up the Aggie Network, and you will experience another unique benefit of being an Aggie. With 251 A&M Clubs and 300-plus annual Musters worldwide, galas and reunions, and university news sites and magazines, the opportunities to stay connected to your alma mater are plentiful and enriching. The Association of Former Students will help you maintain those connections, promote the interests and welfare of the university, and serve the current student body.

It is my ardent hope that your time at Texas A&M has imparted to you the value of service. Our core values – Respect, Excellence, Leadership, Loyalty and Selfless Service – are not just for current students. These values are meant to be taken with you, into your life, your career and our world.

As you embark upon this next chapter of your life, I wholeheartedly wish you extraordinary success and immeasurable happiness.

I thank you for the contributions you undoubtedly made during your time on campus, and for those you will surely make in the years to come as you carry the Aggie Spirit with you.

Remember, "Once an Aggie, Always An Aggie!"

Congratulations, thanks and Gig 'Em!
